To implement this experience we organized a workshop lasting one morning session in a Primary education school during the 2005/2006 school year. In this project we intended to explore the concept of creative collaboration. For this, we worked on the issue on the basis of a dialogue and diversity of perspectives oriented towards a shared goal.

To look through a photo camera means to focus our outlook on a specific aspect of what our everyday life can be. For this we work the concept of space through art in situations of collaboration between boys and girls. Based on the idea that composing is organizing shapes within s certain space, children were shown two pictures, by Picasso and Braque respectively; with this concept as the central issue, the pictures served as a reference on how to work in collaboration. Bearing these ideas in mind, children in years 3 and 4 in a school in Alcalá de Henares took photos to show their families what their school means to them. From the photos taken to represent their vision of the school, they wrote a short text and titled their "work of art".
With these photos and texts they built murals that were displayed during the school’s Cultural Week. Thus, they were able to share this experience with their families.

This experience allowed us to bring art closer to the school in a different way, through creative collaboration. This turned into a very motivating task for children, who became “artists” for a day within their own environment. Through this workshop we were able to observe how collaboration can also take place at a visual level. In addition, the exercise of reflecting on the art proposed on the basis of the works by Picasso and Braque and the ones made by the children themselves enabled a very interesting dialogue.
